Fantastic youth hostel in a medieval castle. Very friendly staff give there best esp. for children.

Stayed with my family for 3 nights, wish it could have been more. The castle is wonderful. The accomodation is excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and more. We went to the medieval banquet which was great. We also had breakfasts and an evening meal on another night, all were again excellent value for money. The kids did one of the archery sessions which they enjoyed. I've never visited this area before but will definitely return as the countryside is beautiful. Really glad we went.
Wonderful setting inside a castle. Apparently the most haunted in the whole of the UK.. Rooms are fine although very hot on a sunny day especially on the west side. Very friendly staff and typically interesting YHA experience. You can eat your meal in the castle grounds. Look out for the ghostly Knight in the night
Spent a single night, host and staff are friendly with a lot of knowledge about the history of the castle. Banquet was fun and entertaining, guests have option of dressing up in provided costumes, great for children. Outdoor activities were well organised. pretty much every room will have an interesting ghost story attached to them. Rooms were warm, considering how cold it was when we went. Everyone had a great time.
